Cleanway Cleans Up After Fire and Chemical Spill

Cleanway Environmental Services was recently engaged by NSW Fire Brigades and the EPA to manage and coordinate the safe removal of over 800 tonnes of toxic waste generated by a fire in a chemical plant. The chemical waste and fire washwater drained in to a local creek which had the potential to be a major ecological disaster. However, due to a rapid responce and a huge logistical operation all the waste was pumped out before it could enter the wetlands.
